Playlist Pro: YouTube Playlist Manager & Duplicate Remover (Chrome extension) · Effective 19 October 2026

Short version: everything stays in your browser. Emulsion Labs, the developer, runs no server and receives nothing. No account with us, no analytics, no ads, no tracking, no selling.

What the extension reads

• Your YouTube session. In your open YouTube tab it reads YouTube's sign-in cookie (SAPISID) to sign requests to youtube.com, the same way the YouTube page does. The cookie is never stored by the extension and never sent anywhere except youtube.com.
• Your playlists. Names, IDs, privacy setting, and the videos in them (ID, title, channel). Used to search, find duplicates, delete, move, copy, remove, export and undo (and merge, in Pro).
• The video you are watching. Title, channel, description and keywords of the current watch page. Used to suggest a playlist in the Save window.

Where data goes

• youtube.com (your own account): reading your playlists, and changing them only when you click (add, remove, create, delete, privacy; merge in Pro). Thumbnails load from i.ytimg.com.
• huggingface.co, only in the Pro version (not in the free version), and only if you turn on Local intelligence: the model files (about 118 MB) download once. The request contains no personal data; Hugging Face sees your IP address and normal browser headers, like any download. Files are checked against fixed SHA-256 hashes. The model then runs on your computer; titles are never sent.
• Your own Google Drive, only in the Pro version (not in the free version), and only if you click Connect Google Drive for auto-backup. See below.
• Nowhere else. No developer server, analytics, ads, trackers or third-party sharing.

Google Drive auto-backup (Pro, optional)

• Off until you connect it. Google's own sign-in window asks you first.
• Scope drive.file only: the extension can see only the files it made itself. It cannot see anything else in your Drive.
• Backup files (the same file as Back up: History & Undo, pins, Ignored songs, learned picks) go only to a "Playlist Pro Backups" folder in your own Google Drive. The newest 10 per YouTube account are kept.
• It reads your Google account's email and name, only to show which Drive it saves to. They are kept in this browser.
• Nothing is sent to us. We have no server.
• Disconnect any time. Access is removed in Google too and backups stop. Files already in your Drive stay there until you delete them.

Permissions

• Free version: storage and unlimitedStorage (your data in this browser), tabs (find and use your YouTube tab, open the Manager), scripting (run the extension's own files in your YouTube tab), and access to youtube.com.
• The Pro version adds offscreen (runs the on-device model), identity (Google sign-in for Drive backup) and alarms (runs the backup on schedule).

What is stored on your computer

In Chrome's extension storage, only in this browser profile:

• Playlist cache and scan results.
• Settings and your Smart Rules.
• A 16-character hash of your YouTube account ID (never your name or email), so each account's data stays apart.
• Pinned playlists.
• Your last 500 Save choices (video ID, title, channel, playlist, time), to learn your habits.
• History & Undo log (last 120 actions) and backups of removed videos, so Undo works.
• Pro only: the downloaded model, if Local intelligence is on.
• Pro only: the Google email and name and the backup schedule, if Drive backup is connected.

Export (CSV/JSON) and Back up save a file to your computer only when you click them. Restore reads a file you pick. Nothing is uploaded, except to your own Google Drive if you connect Pro auto-backup.

Keeping and deleting

Data stays until you remove it:

• Manager → Duplicate Cleaner → Clear Cache (scan results, cached playlist videos).
• Pro only: Manager sidebar → Delete downloaded model.
• Pro only: History & Undo → Disconnect (Drive backup). Delete the "Playlist Pro Backups" folder in Drive to remove the files.
• Removing the extension deletes everything it saved in this browser.

Sharing and use

Not sold. Not shared. Not used for ads, credit or lending, or anything outside the extension's features. The use of information follows the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
