Emulsion: Film Look Editor (Android)

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does Emulsion not require full gallery permissions?

Emulsion uses Android's modern system photo picker (PickVisualMedia). The application only accesses the individual photo files you select to edit, without requesting broad access to your photo library.

Where are exported photos saved?

Exported JPEG, PNG, and HEIC files are saved to Pictures/Emulsion in your device gallery via MediaStore. Exported .cube 3D LUT profiles are saved to your Downloads/Emulsion folder.

How does Depth Blur work?

Depth Blur calculates per-pixel spatial depth to emulate fast optical lens characteristics (aperture disc bokeh, cat's eye distortion, chromatic fringing). The neural models download once on demand from Google Play and execute entirely on your phone's processor.

Is Emulsion Pro a subscription?

No. Emulsion Pro is a single one-time payment linked to your Google account ($4.99 during beta, $9.99 regular price). It permanently unlocks all film profiles, lenses, tools, frames, and unlimited saved looks for life.

How do I restore purchases?

Because purchases are processed through Google Play, your Pro entitlement is automatically recognized whenever you log in with the same Google account. Tap "Restore Purchases" in the app settings if switching devices.

Does the free version add watermarks?

No. Emulsion never places watermarks or branding on exported pictures. Free users can export unwatermarked photos at full camera resolution.
